About the Role

We are hiring a Backend Developer to design, build, and scale robust server-side systems powering our client platforms and internal SaaS products. You will architect RESTful and GraphQL APIs, manage relational and NoSQL databases, and integrate third-party services ranging from payment gateways to cloud storage. You will play a critical role in ensuring high availability, security, and performance of our backend infrastructure.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of professional backend development experience with Node.js.
  • Strong understanding of RESTful API design principles and GraphQL schemas.
  • Proficiency with PostgreSQL (query optimization, indexing, migrations) and MongoDB.
  • Experience with ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize.
  • Knowledge of Docker for containerized development and deployment.
  • Familiarity with AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) or equivalent cloud platforms.
  • Understanding of authentication strategies: JWT, OAuth 2.0, session management.
  • Experience writing unit and integration tests (Jest, Supertest).

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure, well-documented RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
  • Architect relational database schemas optimized for read-heavy production workloads.
  • Build and manage background job queues and scheduled tasks.
  • Integrate payment gateways (Stripe, Razorpay), cloud storage (S3), and communication APIs (Twilio, SendGrid).
  • Implement role-based access control (RBAC) and multi-tenancy patterns.
  • Monitor backend performance using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical documentation.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with microservices or event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ).
  • Knowledge of serverless functions (Vercel Edge, AWS Lambda).
  • Contribution to open-source Node.js or database tooling.
