Solutions Architect

About the Role

We are looking for a Solutions Architect to serve as the technical authority on how we design and build software systems at Sundram Tech Solutions. You will be the person who walks into a client discovery call and — within hours — can map out the right database design, API structure, tech stack, cloud topology, and scalability strategy. You will translate complex business requirements into detailed technical blueprints, guide engineering teams through implementation, and ensure every system we build is secure, scalable, and maintainable. This is our most senior technical role.

Tech Stack

Requirements

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 2 years in a senior architecture or tech lead role.
• Deep expertise in system design: scalability, availability, consistency, partitioning, and performance trade-offs.
• Strong command across the full stack — frontend, backend, databases, cloud, and infrastructure.
• Proven experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent understanding of database design patterns (relational, NoSQL, caching layers, event sourcing).
• Ability to evaluate, select, and justify technology choices for new projects with clear rationale.
• Strong written and verbal communication — able to explain technical architecture to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with cloud architecture on AWS or GCP (networking, IAM, compute, storage, managed services).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery sessions with clients to understand business goals and translate them into a system architecture.
• Define the tech stack, database schema, API design, and infrastructure topology for all new client and internal projects.
• Create detailed architecture diagrams, data flow maps, and technical design documents (TDDs) for every major system.
• Set and enforce engineering standards: coding conventions, API contracts, security best practices, and review checklists.
• Review code, database schemas, and infrastructure configurations for architectural correctness before major releases.
• Act as the technical point of contact during project proposals — co-authoring scopes, timelines, and cost estimates with the business team.
• Mentor senior engineers and guide the technical growth of the entire engineering team.
• Continuously evaluate emerging technologies (AI models, databases, frameworks) and recommend adoption where appropriate.
